The Clean Hydrogen Future Coalition (CHFC) is an alliance of members working together to advance federal policies that accelerate the growth of clean hydrogen. CHFC’s diverse membership includes energy and industrial companies, equipment suppliers, research institutions, project developers, trade associations, labor unions, NGOs, and others. Our shared goal is to catalyze private investment across the hydrogen value chain and position hydrogen as a critical pathway to achieving energy objectives and maintaining U.S. competitiveness. Members of CHFC represent the full spectrum of the hydrogen ecosystem and are leaders in driving innovation within their respective industries. CHFC is grounded in a set of foundational principles that guide all coalition positions and advocacy. These principles allow the Coalition to unite a wide range of interests around credible, effective policy solutions.

To catalyze a clean hydrogen industry in the United States, CHFC designs and advocates for federal policies to scale the full supply chain for clean hydrogen production, transport, storage, and use, as well as the technology development and infrastructure needs across multiple sectors.
Hydrogen Basics
Low carbon hydrogen (LCH) is a highly versatile energy resource. It can be used as a fuel or feedstock across all sectors of the U.S. economy, stored as energy over long periods of time, and deliver energy to where and when it is needed. The global low carbon hydrogen market is expanding at a rapid pace and the U.S. has an opportunity to strengthen its market leadership and create good, new, skilled jobs with the growth of this commodity. Our country already possesses the infrastructure and workforce proficiency across incumbent industries and supply chains to lead in the global hydrogen economy, presenting a unique opportunity for continued U.S. energy leadership.
